Swabby, take a vacation NOW! Here's whats going to happen: 1. People will figure out that it's not Morpheus but Gnucleus and try to get support from YOU when things go wrong. 2. Morpheus corp will post bug reports on your site cause they don't want to pay someone to do the work when they can get it free from you. 3. Being a nice guy, you will try to keep up with the zillions of bug reports and new feature requests and will work 24/7. 4. Morpheus corporate heads will make $100,000 a year or more sitting on their asses, you make $0. 5. Morpheus corp won't hire real programmers, nor can their current programmers figure out what the F to do with this strange looking C stuff you write "WTF are that there anyway? don't be lookin leiek no quick basic'n to me joe". 6. You end up broke while corp vice presidents drive a lexus and have no clue what a gnutella protocol is. Driving down the road with a foxy blonde or two in the car. Suggestion: TAKE A VACATION NOW! (make it publicly known you will be gone for a month or three) And if you are thinking "I have my pride", read #6 above and visualize it in your mind for a minute. We all understand! AND NO ONE POST ANY PATCHES OR FIXES! We can handle life with Gnucleus just the way it is now. 2 months won't matter much. There is no reason for you to keep working on this so others can get rich from it. Let these guys figure out it takes real work to make this stuff. So far they have purchased all their code and seem to think they can run a business without getting their hands "dirty". Thanks for all the work you have done so far, its time to move on to something else for a while. |

"Gnucleus, so good its the choice of millions of Morpheus users worldwide" (But perhaps more diplomatically phrased, eh?) |

"Help us build the new Morpheus Over the next few weeks we want to hear from you about how to make your new Morpheus software the peer-to-peer product you want it to be. We will be showing you new Morpheus logos, introducing new communication features and asking you for feedback about the new software. Keep your eyes open as each day we post new information " http://www.musiccity.com/ Translation: "we will pass the buck on to swabby, he loves working for free. I have to go to the beach now, busy, busy, busy corporate life you know" |

Damn this guy is full of it "Our goal is to create the software that lets you create the network" Like he has any good programmers there? Translation: "Our goal is to let swabby create the software that lets us rip off the network and make a bundle" They are so good over there they can't even keep their "dcforum" software working right. |

They are not theives. It would have been nice if they had asked first. If they make any changes themselves they will have to post them to the net. If they suck then all the other clients don't need to use them. If they are good and move the protocol on then thats good. Unfortunatly (or fortunatly if you look at it different) morpheous having the most users means what it does will probably end up affecting the gnutella scene. It did good things for Morpheous. K. BTW I think that Morpheous should cosider giving a contribution to the gnucleus project. BBTW OpenFT will be great. Just need someone to write nice portable JavaVesion... /me directs Java developers to the gift project and LimeWire... you know you want to |
