morpheus connects, gnucleus doesn't I know that morpheus is just a copy of gnucleus however I can connect and download with morpheus but can not with gnucleus! I generally prefer open source software and really hate ad's and spyware so gnucleus seemed to be the ticket but people can download from me like crazy and I can't download anything. At first I thought gnutella was overloaded from the sudden influx of morpheus users but morpheus is able to download songs. I also found and used the setting which I believe prevents a search from listing any machine that isn't accepting connections. I don't get it how can two virtually identical pieces of software perform so differently. I've seen retrying and retrying and retrying so many times I'm ready to stop trying. Is there another open source gnutella client out there? |
LimeWire and Phex are Open Source also. Both are written in Java. Other Open-Source servents are available for Linux, but afaik not for Windows. |
Maybe because Morpheus has extra servers added on, try adding extra servers to Gnucleus (example; connect5.gnutellanet.com:6346, connect6.gnutellanet.com:6346) you get it? Thought i'd help. |
