Default won't install

When I run "Configure" it asks if I have glib installed and "make" says glib.h does not exist, but it does in /opt/gnome/include/glib-1.2. I tried to write that into
glibpackage='/opt/gnome/include/glib-1.2'
glibpth='... (what's already there)... /opt/gnome/lib'

I also get this:
strlcpy() NOT found.
<libcharset.h> NOT found.

It also says something about not finding GTK+, but is seems to find GTK1. Will that be a problem?

Alternative, help with old one

Is 0.92 forbidden or is it something I managed to do, 'cause it suddenly stopped working (that's why I try to install the new one). A few sec after startup it just disappears. When I change name on .gtk-gnutella dir and it creates a new I don't get any connections. I have tried to have it on for over an hour, copy hosts, ultras, gwcache from old dir and manually add ip's. I get msg like "data timeout" "forbidden" "stopping"

Thanks for any help!

What operating system or rather package system do you use?
It looks like neither glib-config nor gtk-config are in
your path. Those are probably in /opt/gnome/bin.
If you install GTK+/GLib 2.x you should have pkg-config in your path. Without them Configure won't be able to figure out the necessary compiler and linker flags.

That's not a problem, just an informational message.

Yes, you need GTK+/GLib (1.2 or 2.x) and libxml2.

Thank you for helping.

I use suse 9.0, if that's what you meant with package.

Yes, glib-config and gtk-config are in /opt/gnome/bin

Now I have pkg-config installed and yast put it in /usr/bin

The installation instructions to gtk+ said to install it where GLib, Pango and Atk are, wich is in /opt/gnome(/include?).

Should I install both gtk+ and gnutella in /opt/gnome then or move things around/reinstall Glib etc? If I intstall everything in ...gnome, then I will not have pkg-config in my path?

You don't have to reinstall anything, just add /opt/gnome/bin
to your path and run Configure then:

PATH=${PATH:+$PATH:}/opt/bin/gnome
export PATH
./Configure
