Gnutella doesn't find any results (Ubuntu). Hi, I'm using Ubuntu Breezy, and have just done a fresh install. Gnutella had previously worked well with Debian and Ubuntu, but now I find it doesn't return any results. If I hover in the top right of the screen, I am told that Gnutella is very old. Should this stop it working? As I say, I had Ubuntu installed previously, and it worked just fine. Any help appreciated, Cheers, Chris. |
Verify you got the latest version 0.96? http://gtk-gnutella.sourceforge.net Also, look if you are connected before starting a search... Ciao |
Hi, I'm using gtk-gnutella/0.95.4 (2005-07-31; GTK2; Linux i686). Does it stop working after so long? Maybe I need to mail the Debian/ Ubuntu maintainer. Thanks, Chris. |
... use latest, then you can bother other people for current problems  http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...ackage_id=4479 There ARE .deb packages. |
Thank you for your sarcasm. "There ARE .deb packages." As stated, I am using a .deb, it's standard in GNU/ debian and Ubuntu. Hope your day gets better, and you don't vent at other people! You may want to check this out: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=123109 It seems like i'm not alone. |
wow. Not only you don't even bother using 0.96-1, you try to kid me with .deb? Hey big boy, I recommended 0.96 which is the right thing to do before bitching about outdated versions and I even ensured there were .deb pakages because I saw you were using Ubuntu. No wonder you can't get connected. As the thread you linked pointed, you can always try LW. :o |
