Noob can't get any results...

I'm a relatively new Ubuntu user (1 year) and a brand new GTK user. However, I have used Gnutella via several other apps before when I used Windows.

The problem I am having is that when I start up GTK I get an immediate notice that I am connected but I have yet to actually receive a result during any search. There IS an icon on the lower right hand corner that says I am firewalled (not locally) but I have not been able to get a search result on two different ISPs.

I tend to be configuration challenged when it comes to many internet apps. Is this a common problem with Intrepid Ibex? Can anyone help me with this? I love Gnutella but I refuse to go back to Windows.

~ hoping i am not out of luck...

With GTK I assume you mean gtk-gnutella?
In the main screen, network tab, you should see several hosts that you are connected to. Usually 4 hosts. They are shown in black.

You should open port 6346 in your firewall for both TCP and UDP traffic.
