Icanoetoo is flying high
Default Connections : 0

I've been using Phex off and on for about three months now and this is the first problem that I have encountered! Kudos to you guys!
I shut down my machine and when I re-started there are no connections showing when I open the connection tab and I am unable to get any results from a search. My existing downloads are still active and downloading however so I must have connections???
Help please.

It sounds as if the problem may lie in your router, and quite a bit is explained here for various Linskys models. The thread concerns Limewire, but obviously is relevant

In the last post is also a link to portforward.com. See if this helps. If you are not connected to any other Ups/leaves but you have already established existing connections, those connections will continue in certain circumstances.

do you see nothing atall trying to connect in the connections window? Often it takes quite a long time for "connecting" to turn to connected

Let us know if this helps for now. I must rush, but let us know how you get on and if you need more help.

Rebooting my comp cured this problem on one occasion btw, but I don't have a router that could have caused it

Do you see no connections at all or failing connections?

if it's no connections at all, you can try restarting phex. It checks a phex-specific gwebcache about every second startup.

also you can try hitting thheh "connect" button among the buttons at the top of the window. When phex detects, that it has no internet-connections, it stops trying to connect.

I createt a feature request to include a pop up telling you when phex realizes it has no internet-connection: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...908#post247908

This might be due to failing UDP Host Caches.

There are only a few GWebCaches left, it seems, and the UDP Host Caches don't seem to work well enough

But for this problem Phex has its own GWebCache set up, which ensures that Phex' will always find other Phex'
