Default Connection Problem

Hi This is my first time using this forum. I had Phex for quite a while now and all of sudden before Christmas it quit connecting. I figured I had to update to the next version, which I did but still have the problem. I have windows xp home edition, Dial up connection 56k but don't know the rest of the info you need or how to find it. The error message I get is connection timed out,and or connection refused. I don't have windows firewall on but I do have Outpost firewall which I have allowed for phex to connect. I did by some freak accident do something that said that the port was Stealth. I don't know how to fix that. I did download Kazza thinking maybe it was Phex well Kazza wouldn't connect either. I DO LIKE PHEX and would love to use it again. But need to have EASY instructions on how to get it to work.

Anything you can do to help me will be greatly appreciated.

You could try changing the Port Phex uses (and checking, if the Outpost firewall allows you to set new priviledges for that Port).

To do that, go into the Options -> Network and change the Port Setting to something else (i.e.: 11229 ,, random number ).

Did you make a Windows Update?

If Phex still refuses to connect, you can try quitting and restarting it a few times (I know this sounds strange, but it works sometimes. It can help, if your HostCache doesn't have valid Hosts anymore).

Best wishes,
Arne
