Download Speeds I have got a question regarding download speeds. I am not able to download any faster than 30 kb/s when using Phex. When I use another service like Bearshare, I can get download speeds in excess of 500 kb/s. I have my security devices configured the same way and I have Port Forwarding enabled through my router at the listening port listed on the Networks tab of Phex, but I still cannot get any higher download speeds. Any ideas or suggestions? |
Do you have any bandwidth limitation configured in the Phex options? As far as your download sources offer it, speeds above 500kb/s should be no problem. |
Could you check the bandwidth option (strg-o -> bandwidth) which connection-speed you configured? Also a look at download -> number of simultaneous transfers might be worthwhile. Best wishes, Bab |
I have the connection type set on DSL/Broadband and the number of simultaneous downloads is set at 8. |
en for lan sistem |
Could you please try setting the simultaneous connections to 27 and the connections per file to 9? This could increase the speed quite much. |
These are what my default settings are at under the download settings tab: Max download connections global: 27 Max download connections per file: 9 Initial download segment size: 16kb Target time per segment: 90 seconds Push timeout: 30 All boxes are checked except Download subscriptions without message |
THese are good, so the problem shouldn't come from here. Could you try searching for something really popular, like "amv .avi" and download one of those? |
