Default Incompletes not showing up after reinstall of Phex

Recently I reinstalled my OS and then reinstalled Phex 3.2.0.102 and found that my incompletes are not loading up to be downloaded.
My incomplete file in my docs is still there but I have not figgured out how to get them back into Phex to resume their downloading.
I tried arne_bab's suggestion in post http://www.gnutellaforums.com/help-s...ncomletes.html
but it did not work.
Most of my completes were almost complete and I would really hate to have to start over again.
Did many searches here for a remedy and found only the one post for Phex but found many for limewire/frostwire and emule both of which I know how to resume the incomplete files.\But Phex.... I cannot figgure out.
I found in Phex in the (hidden) application file and found where the incompletes are supposed to be. I downloaded a file that I had no interest in and shut Phex off after downloading a small bit of it so I would have a new incomplete file to find where it went to. It went to my original incomplete folder in with my old incompletes but upon re-starting Phex, that file resumed downloading but the others ... not there.
Anyone can help?

Greetings,

Did you backup the phex configuration files?

Just edit the file phexdownload.xml and add "<incomplete-file-name>/path/to/the/incomplete/dir/where/you/have/the/incomplete/file</incomplete-file-name>

You probably will have to search that file again to add new sources

This should work.

"Did you backup the phex configuration files?"
Unfortunately ...................... no

Just edit the file phexdownload.xml and add "<incomplete-file-name>/path/to/the/incomplete/dir/where/you/have/the/incomplete/file</incomplete-file-name>

Tried that twice but no go. I go back to that file and what I had just put in is not there anymore.

Ok this is very experimental but you might have a very slim chance if you try the following.
Search for the exact same file, it must have the same SHA1 of the lost incomplete file to work. Unfortunately you cant check what the lost SHA1 was...
Download a few KB of this file and let it collect candidates.

Now open your phexdownload.xml and change the incomplete-file-name tag like Manifest0 mentioned to point to your lost incomplete file.
Now look for tags that looks like this:
<finished-scopes start="0" end="5970"/>
<finished-scopes start="8359" end="597875"/>
Remove all finished-scopes tags except one and change it to look like this
<unverified-scopes start="0" end="900000"/>
Set the end value to about 10-20MB less then the file size you like to download.

What this hopefully does is that you mark almost the whole file as already downloaded but not verified. Phex will hopefully find a candidate providing a THEX tree of the file while downloading the missing 20MB. Once it has the THEX tree it will verify the whole file and... hopefully... throw away everything you have not successfully downloaded before.

But when you found a file with a different SHA1 Phex will very likely throw away everything you have downloaded before.. So its very important to find the exact same file...

My files are not lost. They are sitting in the old Phex incomplete folder from the previous application. The new Phex application is not picking them up for whatever reason. I have set in the options to use that folder for the neww application"s incompletes. I download part of a file just to see where it would go and it went right into that old folder.

The files are lost in the phexdownload.xml file I mentioned above.
