why does the music I download have skips in them and some music the backup vocals are louder than the lead vocals

I think the file that you download has a problem already before you download it. Some music is not clear. You cannot guaranty hundred percent that the music you download is clear. After you download you need to play it first before you can say that the music you download has a good quality.
