Default Phex will not connect to hosts

Windows XP, Phex version 3.2.0.102 new install

The remote host list appears and after a few minutes disappears. Every connection is "connecting" and then "error connect timed out". What is going on? I have firewall set to allow phex traffic.

I have the same issue, when I start Phex it goes through the Host cache and fails to connect to even one host.

Mac OS X 10.5.6
Java 1.6
Phex 3.4.0.110
I tried with various ports, when I try to connect to for instance
127.0.0.1:6346
I get a page with "Shared File Export" and a list of my shared files, but no connection to anything at all.

My LimeWire and FrostWire both work perfectly using the same port. Help!

Are you behind a firewall? Could you check the settings of the MacOSX firewall? (systemsettings -> network or sharing, IO think)

Are you behind a router? Could you check if your port is forwarded (in need of help with that just google for "forward port <your router name>").

I do not use a firewall, the Mac OS X firewall is deactivated completely.
I am connected to a router, this one also has the firewall functions turned completely off, and all ports are completely open with no ports forwarded.

Both LimeWire and FrostWire works perfectly as well, but for some reason Phex 3.4.0.110 does not.

Cheers,
Jo Jo

Please forward the Phex port to your computer (in your router). That should make it work (it might be a UPnP issue).

PS: LimeWire and Frostwire use almost the same codebase.

Hi

I have forwarded my port and I have changed the port on

Setttings > Options > General Settings > Network > Listening Port

I then restarted Phex but then it still could not connect to the hosts.

I have tried to "ping" some of the servers listed but I could only ping about one in seven. Why is this?

Secondly I would like to write a batch script that tries to ping all of the hosts in the HostCache. Is there any way I can view all these hosts in a single document?

Regards,
Rafeeq
