![]() I recently updated to the 3.4.0.110 version of Phex, and since doing that, my searches are not working well. For example, if I did a search for J** W****** (a singer) before I installed the new version, and ran it through 3 or 4 times, I might get 30-60 legitimate hits (some duplicates), not counting the spam hits. Now - with the new version - if I do the same search 3 or 4 times, I'm lucky to get 3 or 4 legitimate finds. The spam hits occur as they did before. When I downloaded the new version, something called phex_win.magma downloaded, too, and I haven't installed that (or maybe I did install it, but didn't do the file export that it recommended; I can't remember for sure). But from what I've read here, the magma download isn't related to the new phex download. Has anyone else encountered this problem, or does anyone know how I can fix it? If not, can anyone tell me if it's possible to return to the older version of Phex I was using? Thanks for any help anyone can give. - Daang Last edited by GregorK; January 14th, 2009 at 01:13 AM. |

![]() Sorry - just realized I forgot to give details of my setup. Here they are: Windows XP Comodo firewall, plus BOC427.exe and avgrsx.exe running 256 MB RAM Free disk space - 18 GB ADSL connection, using port forwarding Connecting from my house ISP is TTT in Thailand (where I live) - Daang |

![]() Can you make sure your firewall and router allows in- and outgoing TCP and UDP traffic to the port Phex is configured on. The new version improves handling of UDP search responses. It will usually provide you with results quicker and with less spam. |

![]() Thanks for your note, GregorK. It made me realize that I had a new router installed a few weeks ago, and never portforwarded Phex with it. I didn't think to do that because Phex was still working. So I tried to do a port forwarding as best as I could even though the brand of my new router is not listed at portforward.com (I live in Thailand and have some Chinese router that uses a sticker to designate the name of the local ISP as its brand; there is no brand stamped on the router itself). I chose a router brand that had a model number similar to my model, and did the best I could in setting up a port forwarding. Then I did a search, and got lots of legitimate hits on it, so it seems to be working a lot better now. If I encounter problems again, I'll post again. |
