![]() I would like to recommend PeerGuardian to all Phex users. You may find a considerable improvement in not getting quite so many spam results. Some people are perhaps unaware you may at times be directly connected to a spammer ultrapeer & all your searches go through them. They respond with flooding your search results with spam & thus limiting your search horizon & overall genuine search results. Phex users who are running in Ultrapeer mode, may notice a major improvement in performance & this will also greatly improve the overall Gnutella performance if everyone is filtering out these spammers. ![]() Read the effect for a LimeWire user who normally connects as an ultrapeer: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/open-d...unk-files.html. This user checked those ip's via a bad ip's site & found most were on the list & reknown bad ip's used for spamming sites & forums, etc. It appears PeerGuardian uses a similar list of blocking bad ip's. |

![]() Did you do a side-by-side comparision of running with and without PeerGuardian? What I can currently think of: * number of spam results for a common term (how about s e x ? - that gets spammed quite much ![]() * number of good results for a regular search (how about "amv avi": Anime Music Videos) * average network bandwidth when not searching yourself
