Can't connect with BS 4.0 - Error with listener
 

Please help'
I cant connect led in top right corner blinks red and says "error with listening socket"
according to the telnet test my isp does not block port 6346
Any suggestions?

I only had one instance of bearshare running. I found the problem though. I'm running Win 95 and remembered that Napster kept asking me to update my Winsock dll file. It worked fine, so I never did. (if it ain't broke, don't fix it) I saw mention of this file in the forums, and although it didn't seem to relate to my specific problem, I tried it. It worked. My connections are fast and consistant now. Talk about a needle in a haystack.

It just goes to show that one should never jump to conclusions.;)

You most likely had 2 running. You cannot always tell if their is one or two.

Nope, only one instance running...I'm positive. I had also tried Limewire (Not running at the same time as Bearshare) and had the same problem. As soon as I updated the dll file both programs worked.

The winsock dll is definately an issue for Win 95 users. (All 6 of us! lol)
