Default How many hosts to connect to?

Hi,

I kinda new to the Gnutella arena, so I was wondering:

On a fast internet connection (T-1), how many hosts should I have specifed in the auto connect to (Bearshare client)

Does it make a difference the more hosts you connect to? I am still a little fuzzy on this topic. I couldnt find it anywhere on the Bearshare site. Any help clarifying this is much appreciated. Thanks

Default Host

Try 8 min 12 max for searching, 5 min 8 max when not searching.

Yes, the more host you are connected to the more horizon you have and the more files you can find in a search. On the "Statistics" page you can see your horizon and the total Kbps that your hosts are using up. In other words if you connect to say 20 host sure you will find lots of files but you won't have any bandwidth let to download with.

Default Try This

Try connecting to one of these:
gnutella.hostscache.com:6346
gnutella.hostcache.co.uk:6346
gnutellahosts.com:6346
router.limewire.com:6346
gnet.ath.cx:6346
gnet2.ath.cx:6346
connect.newtella.net:6346
cache.gnuranium.com:6346
connect1.gnutellanet.com:6346
connect2.gnutellanet.com:6346
connect3.gnutellanet.com:6346
connect4.gnutellanet.com:6346

For a 56k connection set the min to 4 and max to 6.
