Apparently, I have the same prob. as a lot of others. Somedays I get green but mosttimes I am dissconnected. I went to erase preferences, but this file contains a lot of other stuff too. HELP PLEASE

When you say, "Preferences", I assume that you are referring to the file named

FreePeers

Is that correct ?

If 'yes', than do not worry as BearShare will automatically create a new default FreePeers file the next time you launch BearShare. (You will also need to enter your settings and configurations again.)

Are you certain that your 'connection' problems are related to any of your 'Preferences' ?

btw, what version of BearShare are you using and what exactly do you mean by 'connections' ?
Do you mean the 'connection' to your Internet Service Provider or 'connections' to Hosts/Ultrapeers ?

Check out the Help Files in BearShare... They are remarkably good !

Firewalls have been and aways will be a problem with issues with connecting with P2P apps.

• Hardware firewalls
• Software firewalls
