Unhappy connection problems

I have Beareshare 2.2.7, I had 2.3.0 but found a posting suggesting the older version for connection problems. I have tried the many different host listings, but none work. The program tries to connect, but times out everytime. I've left it on overnight trying to get it to connect, but it still didn't work. I connected just about a week ago, what happened? I've had friends complain of similar problems, is something wrong with the G-net? I've even tried different programs, but nothing works. I'm on a T3 connection and I'm running a software firewall, but it worked just a week or so back, and I changed nbothing on my computer. Whats the deal?

Hi!

Check your firewall...

deactivate it and run bearshare again...

May be this is the reason!

Are you in a LAN?
From Home?

I tried turning my firewall off, it didn't help. I've also tried every one of those servers you listed, they didn't help either. I've visited sites listing servers and none worked. I'm not sure if I'm on a LAN, I'm at a University living in thier housing. I don't log in to a LAN when i start my computer, and I was told it was a direct T3 line into our rooms. If I'm on a LAN, it isn't like any I've used before. I'm running windows ME on almost a brand new machine, my computer shouldn't be a problem. Like I said, I used Bearshare just about a week ago, something changed suddenly. I also downloaded Gnotella to see if there was a problem with the Bearshare program, Gnotella didn't work either. I've had friends complain that Limewire, Gnucleus, Morpheous, and KaZaA don't work either. It may be that its a University problem, if so I'll contact them. Thank You.
