Check the AOL settings for something in there about "Parental Controls" or
anything to do with network security.
You're supposed to shut that completely off.

Try shutting down the AOL spyware protection for a test.

The same goes for the McAfee and Pure Networks Port Magic stuff.
Test with each one disabled.

It could simply be you have too many defenses on your connection, and they
are not working well together. BearFlix is much more powerful than the
"BearShare version 6" iMesh clone, so it would reveal any weaknesses.

Code:
Pure Networks Port Magic = "C:\PROGRA~1\PURENE~1\PORTMA~1\PortAOL.exe" -Run
Looks like it's an add-on for the AOL stuff.
It's probably the parental controls thing anyway.
See if you can get permission to adjust the master account.

Might as well leave the other stuff running for now.
It's probably not doing any harm.

That Laughing Man's a small one I made to fit this forum's low avatar Limits.
Here's the one I made for myself. It took some fiddling to get the shake just
right while keeping the size down to around 100KB. I might add static and
raster burn later but both those effects increase the file length quite a bit.

Feel free to use it at your usual haunts:
