Default TCP nonFirewalled but UDP firewalled!!!



i followed the instructions from "portforward.com" so i have the light green...but the UDP is still firewalled...what is wrong?can anybody help?

Some routers and firewalls need a second rule for UDP even though it's the same port number.

well...i have followed instrutions from portfoward.com and sucesfully forwarded ports for other software(like azureus)...my routers is Intracom Jetspeed520i,go and check it urself.I dont thing i need a new rule

If your router or firewall don't allow for both TCP and UDP in the same rule then yes, you do.
Looks like yours allows "ANY" in that place, so that should be enough for the router.

What about the firewall on your computer? Which one are you using?

zone alarm pro im using port 6348



i guess there is no problem with the firewall,because even when i turn it off,i have the same problem

Actually, ZoneAlarm itself might be the problem. It's notorious for problems with
high performance networking apps like BearShare. Try uninstalling it.

Maybe your ISP is partially blocking traffic to save bandwidth. Pick a different
listener port number above 65000 and set your firewall and router to match.

No real loss. BearShare can easily get along without it, as it was always a secondary channel.
If your TCP ever gets blocked, UDP may still be of some use though it appears to be blocked.
