Default Bearsharev6 connection

I was using bearshare v 5.4.1 before I decided to install the brand new version of bearshare and it was working. After I dl'ed the bearshare v6 though, bearshare (v6) couldn't conect to the internet. Ive check all possibilities of a firewall blocking the conection and none seem to be a problem.

any ideas?

you state in your first post that a previous version of BS was working....is this in the same house/computer you are having problems with, or what?

you are being confusing....it is fairly obvious that by the information in your first post you had BS working, then upon install of v6 things went south..what was new...hmmm....v6?????obviously....

if you are referring to something else, please give detailed information

another possibility is that some people are having problems with connection because of a list of connections available....I found that just being patient and allowing BS to find new connections worked, and after that things have been fine....

try reading the following thread, download the connect.txt file and follow the instructions....

when i try to register an account for bearshare 6 it tells me that i cannot connect. i had an older version of bearshare and it stopped working. i've tried limewire, frostwire, and not bearshare 6 and i'm having a connection problem with all of them.

i've read about resetting your router do try to fix this, but i don't know what the effects of that would be. So, can someone help try and fix this AND explain what exactly will happen when you reset your router

(i'm scared to do this because i don't know if it will mess up our other computer connections such as our upstairs computer and our laptop.)

thanks,
matt
