help i want to connect to a friends pc via ip adress

i cant connect to my friend via his ip adress what do i do ?????????????please write back to me soon to my email adress if possible

this is exactly what I am having trouble with.
when I enter an ISP #, it acts like it is searching files,
but then it gives me a pop-up,
which informs me that I can not connect.
Niether PCs have a firewall, or any other security
program which would disable this.
sorry for the trouble, but, for this question....
I just cant seem to find an answer???

With Limewire this does not always work ... I have been trying to do exactly this for a few weeks and today the connection was made. Keep trying and it should happen ... why there should be a problem is a mystery to me

and if anyone has an explanation ... I'd love to hear it

I have tried looking through the lengthy FAQ, and also
searched the forums, and site for any thing that would
remotly pertain to this matter.....with no luck.

so, I will glady take your advice, and be patient
and persistant. hopefully I will also eventually connect?

I also use Phex (another p2p app) My plan was to swap the Listening port numbers over as my friend could always connect to Phex ... but the last try I made before changing worked .. so that was my next thought ...but as yet untried.

I'm curious to know if your friend could browse you ... as it seems even if they can you may not be ablle to browse them.

One other observation I have is that I use iTunes and usually I can see my LW share in iTunes "Hobo's LimeWire tunes". Sometimes I cannot .. but if I restart LW ..then I usually can. I don't think the two are necessarily related .. but I thought I'd mention it.

Let us know how it goes and I'll let you know if I come up with anything else.

Now that you mention it, she hasnt tried to browse my files.
but, that is on the top of our "to do" list now
I will let ya know how this turns out.
But, I also have the same trouble with itunes,
it seems as though it has to be restarted before
it will show my LW files?? I hadnt ever thought about one problem being related to the other,
maybe? maybe not??

but, I will keep ya updated
as to how the reverse connect goes
