It seems a lot of people our having the same problem I am. Cannot connect to the hosts. I have tried installing many different older versions of bearshare and copying the connect file to the db directory still doesn't connect. I have noticed when your installing the older versions the connect.txt created in the db directory is always the date you installed the software. I downloaded the connect.zip file, unzipped them, and installed them in the db diractory. Still doesn't work. I have been working on the this all weekend and still have no succes. Limewire works fine, but I don't like how long it takes to download files. I have noticed that when I started bearshare it used to ask me if I wanted bearshare to be the default handler. I would say yes and every thing worked fine. I need someone to help me with this

hmmmm....try this....have both LW and BS open at the same time....copy the IP addy and port # of your connections in LW to BS and manually connect...once that happens, after a time, you should find your BS's connect cache updated and be able to connect when you start it up...at first you will be connected to LW users, but after a while you will find proper BS hosts....
