Perhaps in time this will grow. For a start, usually the longer you leave a gnutella program running, the better it performs. One reason is it swaps ultrapeers now & again thus different access to other's files. No, the bearstart equivalent runs differently & more silently & is called launcher. Its shortcuts are used on the start menu & desktop but using the BS Test name. This makes much more sense to do it like that & less confusing for users. |

Just tried your connection cache, only showed 1 connection. It was hit & miss. Please give file_girl my best. Tell her a fantastic job!! Edited: P.S. it sets the date back every time u run it .. needs a crack when you set date forward and run again it says: then u must run as admin which take back again Last edited by awb555; February 10th, 2011 at 07:43 PM. |

Potentially yes you can keep it running in background. But in general terms, the longer it runs the better it will be. If the connection was fine from the beta, use that connection cache. I just connected with BS Beta on Win 2000 & as usual it connected quickly. Snapshot below (I edited out ip addresses & host names for privacy.) The no. beside the earth symbol I'm not even sure what it means. However the number to the left of it shows how many peers you are connected to. Mine shows 16, & the Host connection window verifies this as you can see below. I'm often connected to more polish peers on Windows 2000, however it may depend on time of day. I had not updated the cache I posted in the connection thread since last year. I've just posted a fresh choice a minute ago. |

I suspect the way File_Girl's program works, it does it silently; ie: no system warnings or warning messages. Likewise I did not see any on either Win XP or Win 7. She & I had been testing this new program over recent weeks. I didn't even get around to testing her last one from a few days ago. Including it in the overall installer for BS was the plan & she also used a different kind of installer for the entire BS package. She's done a great job. |
