Default LimeWire Pro Themes

Winamp is laughing at LimeWire right now due to lack of Skins available. It would be cool if you could customize it like put a picture where you want, choose the color of the panels and everything. That'd be cool. I have Pro, and the Pro Skin KILLS my eyes. ( Way too bright! All that white. ) I was forced to download the Halloween theme, but that Loading box it has with all those pumpkins has got to go. I want the Pro "whole Lime" loading box which looks sweet, but also wish to keep the same color scheme. It would also be awesome to see a Kingdom Hearts Skin, or a Nightmare Before Christmas Skin. ( Great Movie but EMO's have taken it hostage! ) Can anyone point me in the direction to find a way to attain any one of these?

Of course I've seen all those. Jesus... I'm not a moron. Do you really think I'll find a Kingdom Hearts Skin there? Wait, let me check. Nope nothing there that even resembles what I asked for. Smart *** coments, although sometimes humorous, aren't welcome in my thread. Please refrain to posting them then. Thanx. Sad to see one of your "Senior Member's" lacks any common courtesy. " Old & Cranky "? Words have never been proven so true untill now. Any way, is there anyone else who has the slighest bit of decency as to treat other members with respect? Again, thank you in advance for any help you may give.

Well you obviously did not read the forum rules before you posted or the newbies guide to writing a good thread if you had you would have placed this thread in the new features request. But then again if you would have read the forum before you posted you would have seen that that request had been made many times before and is pretty much a dead subject. But what would anyone expect out of a newbie. Any way have fun making your new skin. There is some interesting reading below you might want to give it a try.

I see you insist on remaining the grouch that you are. I read your post and actually thought you had gone through the trouble on posting links to how to make a skin. I over estimated you. I guess I'll try posting my questions elsewhere, as you've made it exceedingly obvious who's in charge of this side of town. I may even run into a couple decent human beings on the way out. Thank you for your time. Although you really shouldn't have bothered, I mean after all, what can you expect from a newbie?

Actual if I knew anything about making skins I would have helped you with it. You see that is what I do is help people on a volunteer basis. But I have not read any post on making skins and how yo do it there was a post earlier today from a guy making one you might want to watch that one or post a question to him there. Like I said have fun making your new skin. The link below is to the above mentioned thread.

now... everyone... wait....... and take a deep breath.. and for this reason, just start obnoxiously LAUGHING!! roflmfao << i think that is the best kind.

anywho, great job on answering questions about skins grandpa.

DannyElfman1058, atleast you *kinda* apologized and atleast made an attempt to recover yourself. note that senior members are usually the ones who know the in's-and-out's of LW pretty good. so their is no need to doubt their abilities.

but the skinning power that LW currently has is not that powerful. hopefully we get a better skinning engine than the current one in later versions to come.

(i personally doubt my abilities but that is a totally different subjet )

Lol. ultracross thanks for trying, but we don't need a ref here. Also, I never doubted his knowledge about LimeWire, I merely stated he had no courtesy and didn't respect others because he wasn't near to being a decent human being. Also, you say I "kinda" apologized, and for the record, I didn't. I was just being a smart aleck. Any way Grandpa came up with the goods I was looking for in the first place, however a little too late. I had already searched around here for some answers and surprisingly enough, found em. I am grateful though. Despite all this, Grandpa, I didn't mean anything by it, no hard feelings? (There's your apology) Please, let's be friends...

Moving on to business, found a little program designed by a guy in these forums, zimdale, to customize skins. Figured it all out just fine, yet there isn't really a place to find out how to. If you don't have a program to make the theme's file type you're kind of hosed, unless you do my uber sneaky/hacker type work. It is kind of long especially for something this simple, but hey, we have to keep in mind all those newbies out there. You never know what to expect. First, open up windows explorer, and then do a search. Search, "Theme.txt" This should bring up txt files for all the Skins you have one your PC. Download this program.

http://www.gnutellaforums.com/attach...&postid=131395

It will open up to the folder that this program was downloaded to. I now would recommend you copy and paste the shortcut because it is a bitch to find. Start the program, click "File" and then Hex Color finder. Play with the three primary colors to make countless variations of pretty much any color you can imagine. In the color finder, there will be a box saying, "Hex #" here will be the "code" for the color you wish to use. Copy that by high lighting the code, and pressing "ctrl" and "c" at the same time. Close the color finder out and paste the code in the box you wish to use it for. Do this by pressing "ctrl" "v" at the same time. Play around with combinations of colors and fill all the boxes necessary. When finished, click File once more and then "Compile into Text." It will then ask you to click an icon saying "Compile" ( I know, kind of redundant ) There will then be a long list of code names and stuff you need not know about. Just copy all the letters from "PRIMARY1_COLOR=#" on down. Then go back to the search you did at the beginning of this guide. Find a LimeWire theme you know you will NEVER use. When this is done, you cannot go back. Double click and it will open up the text file. Highlight everything from "PRIMARY1_COLOR=#" on down and then copy the text from your custom design skin program. Click File, and then save your progress. Go into LimeWire, and open the Theme that you just altered. It will be your new custom skin. Although you cannot change Loading boxes or other images throughout the skin, the color scheme is your own. You can do this as many times as you want to get it down perfect.

Tell me if anything needs changing and I'll be glad to oblige.
