Installing limewire skins  I've downloaded the skin zip folders and extracted them to the limewire themes folder yet they won't show up in the list of skin choices in Limewire. Can someone help me with this please. Why wouldn't they be working?? |
Did you go to LW>View>Aply Skins>Refresh Skins.......?? Help with Skins When downloading via HTTP (via your browser), right click the link and "Save As". Save the file to one of the following folders: On Windows: C:\Documents and Settings\yourusername\.limewire\themes On Mac Classic: System Folder/Preferences/.limewire/themes On Mac OSX: Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Preferences/LimeWire/Themes You can also download the file using LimeWire. Just click on the link that says, "Download into LimeWire". You will see the downloaded skins in your Library. If you downloaded with your browser, you must move the file to the folders listed above to use the skin. To apply the new skin, go to LimeWire's Menu/ View/ Apply Themes. http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h1.../Smilywais.gif |
Skins HI, thanks for that. I tried the option of downloading into Limewire, but didn't think anything was happening, so I did it the other way but that didn't work. Have just been back into Lime wire and installed all my new skins:D and they are all working. :D :D :D :D :D :D Thankyou! :) |
I'm having a lot of trouble with this! Every time I try to download a skin into LW it just gives me the option of using one of my other files instead and if I try to download using my browser it comes up with an error message which consists of an ! followed by CVVWR4HONKDIOKZRKDUUNH5TOPQWN. If I try to get into my LW themes file I get a message from Java Virtual Machine Launcher which says: Failed to load main-class manifest attribute from C:/Program Files/Limewire/Themes.jar What on Earth does all that mean? |
I tried to do exactly that but it just keeps doing what I said instead. |
You could try to uninstall all Java version from your computer, reboot and then install the newest version using the JRE offline installer downloaded from here: http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/download.jsp Since you get a Java error message, it sounds like a kinda corruption of the Java installation. Let me know whether it worked out........ :Smilywais: |
I tried replacing Java but it does exactly the same things when I try to do anything with LW skins.. |
Tada NO!! Ok guys You /HJave To DO This; Honestly. Heres Proof. http://i18.tinypic.com/6bnblm8.jpg Ok So what you do is.. download the winrar (right click "save target as.." ) On the web browser option.. Unpack it etc in the corect folder (Documents and settings/username/limewire./themes) then also download the limewire one. The reason for this is 1) the limewire download- gives you the LWPT File 2) the browser download gives you the objects FOR the theme to work. Then simply refresh layouts and tadaaaaaa. or clikc ok to the download form limewire so it automatically applies your theme. thankyou would be great.:) |
well the limewire one "needs more sources" |
I must be like one big idiot cause i have tried everything that you guys have been saying to do and nothing is working for me. Can someone put it into lamens terms for me!!! |
