Default Can't get skins to work - Vista

I just got a new computer that has Windows Vista. I downloaded Limewire today and found that none of the skins work. I can't seem to get them to work when I download them either. Im not sure if they are being saved in the correct folder because I do not seem to have a Limewire Themes folder. Any ideas?

The Themes folder is within a folder named LimeWire, which is within the Application Data folder. Application Data's hidden by default, so you'll need to show hidden files & folders in order to see it C:\Documents and Settings\your username\Application Data\LimeWire\Themes.

Have a look at this sticky...it's describing how to find LW's preferences folder in Vista, the Themes folder is within the preferences (LimeWire) folder.

Default limewire theme folder in vista

Help for anyone looking for the theme folder for limewire: I looked EVERYWHERE and finally found the folder. This response assumes that everyone needs step by step instructions, I did. First, you must show all hidden folders. It is fairly simply so I won't go into that. When this is complete, click on the windows icon (lower left corner) and then click on your name at the top of the list on the right. You should see a folder labeled "APP DATA". Click on this folder and you should only have a few options. Select "Roaming". In this folder select "Limewire". Then you should see the theme folder. The easiest method is to just drag the theme file itself into this folder and drop it. Hope It Helps!!!!!

Yea, I am sorry- but I don't get it at all! I followed the steps above and dragged my downloaded theme for Limewire into the theme area.. Went to Limewire to "Apply Skins" and nothing. I have a PC full of skins and nowhere to put em. Any real help out there?

once you drag the new theme into the theme folder, go open limewire. I would recommend that you not have limewire running as you do this. Once you have the new theme in the folder and have limewire running once more, go in to the drop down menu where you select your new theme and hit "Refresh Themes". Once you do, reopen the drop down box again and you should see your new themes. Note: I downloaded a theme that did not work when it went to limewire. It just said windows theme, but wouldn't function. Also, when switching from theme to theme, the switch is not direct. If you choose a new theme it may revert to the default windows theme first. If so, just go to the drop menu and choose your theme again. Hope that helps!!

Im gonna try the whole thing all over. I did have Limewire running while I downloaded the new skin, so MAYBE theres's a bug there. Really--it's Vista. I loathe Vista. My other pc has XP and I had my Limewire PIMPED out. Thanks for the help in any case. If it doesn't work, I will chuck this pc onto the interstate (After I strip it of coarse!).

I am also using Vista and I have tried absolutely everything and nothing will work!!! I have been through all of these threads and tried a few things but nothing has helped...I'm thinking of uninstalling limewire and reinstalling it to see if I can make it work because it's completely screwed up...
