Unhappy Disappearing Dowmloads Queue - help?

As I understand it when you have to shut Limewire down for some reason -- like installing other software, etc -- it is supposed to remember the songs you lined up to download and resume attempting to download them when you relaunch Limewire. Although much of the time it does exactly that, twice in the last two days it has completely blanked out my download queue, losing many hours of searching and selecting.

Is this happening to others? And does anyone know how to fix it? Any help or ideas would be appreciated!

Mac G4 dual GHz, OS 10.1.5, Limewire 2.4.4

Download queues are stored in thd downloads.dat file in your incomplete directory, not the registry. It seems that LimeWire does not always update the file correctly before shutting down.

Smile Thanks

(pardon the change in id from "unregistered," but I decided to sign up for this forum)

thanks for the info -- as long as I know there's nothing to do about the downloads I can live with it 'til it's addressed in some future version.

Though I wonder -- would saving the downloads.dat file before quitting and replacing it after restart (in a case where they had disappeared) do any good, or just cause trouble? May give it a try.

This would only work if the downloads you wanted are already in the downloads.dat file (from a previous LW session in which the file was successfully updated). You can verify this by skimming through it with a text editor (although it may look a little strange) before performing a backup or restore.

(And don't worry about the name change - most people around here appreciate it when you register. That way, we all know exactly who we're conversing with.)

Greetings,
Tru
