Subject: Happy Thanksgiving Everyone
LimeWire Community-
I hope everyone who celebrates Thanksgiving has a nice holiday tomorrow.
We'll all be out until next Monday, so we likely will not be answering
any e-mails. We've been having serious cross-platform installer
glitches, but it looks like we've finally got everything ironed out with
LimeWire 2.7.13. That's a high minor version number, huh? =).
For the interested, it turns out that the option in Java 1.4.x to create
1.1.x-compatible class files produces class files that many if not all
1.3.x JVMs are unable to run. So, beware if any of you are working on
other Java projects!
Otherwise, the LimeWire project is moving along spectacularly. With
Phillipe's hard work, LimeWire is not translated into about 11
languages, and there have been some fantastic recent UI submissions by
Sam. We hoped to get Sam's changes out in a 2.8.0 beta today (with
server side GUESS), but the class file issues effectively thwarted that
effort.
Thanks for everyone's continuing hard work on the project, and hopefully
things will only get better!
-Adam
