![]() This is very frustrating. I have tried everything I can think of to fix it. I am running 2.8.6 and just today my search screen menu bar has totally disappeared. When I do searches now, I can see the number of entries, however the actual list of files that i would click to download is no longer available. Instead it is just solid WHITE screen. (All other menus appear normally.) Has anyone had or seen this problem? Does anyone know the fix? I have attempted the REPAIR option, and it fails claiming that it cannot run the /temp/LimeWire*.msi file (even though I checked and its all THERE in the correct path its asking for). I have completely removed it, rebooted, reinstalled. And I have even attempted to install a previous version 2.8.5, but to no avail. The only version that seems to work is 2.3.3. I run Windows 2000 with JRE 1.4.1_01. Does anyone have any NEW thoughts how to get LimeWire fixed and working?? Thanks. |

![]() I'm assuming that since no one responded... no one has ever had this problem. I have done disk checks, windows registry repairs, and completely deleted limewire (including the program files directory), rebooted many times, and reinstalled from scratch, yet nothing brings it back.. Still as first reported... there is a missing "screen". When I search, i can see everything normally in the lower 'downloading files' section, I can also see the 'download', 'chat', and 'browse host' buttons on the middle bar just fine. I can see the little "X" up top for each search, including the text being searched and the (#) number results found tab. However.... NOTHING but white screen remains when a tab is clicked. And no blue buttons to show name, size, stars, connection type, or any thing else that is supposed to be in the blue button bar. Its just GONE. It never comes back. I cannot use limewire like this. All other screens remain in perfect condition. Any suggestions??? Coders have any clues of what broke, or how to fix it, since reinstalling doesnt change anything? |

![]() The problem still persists, and after weeks, no one has had the solution. Its probably not as hard as it seems, yet it eludes us all. For the most complete description of the problem, including a few things not found in this link..... click and read (at least the post there with COLOR in it) on this thread ---->> http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=18725 Any suggestions are very appreciated. At this point, the white top right area of the search RESULTS window fail to ever show up. It appears to be a corruption related to startup, perhaps a missing or broken file. Reinstalling has no effect for fixing the problem. Perhaps something is sticking in the registry regardless of uninstalling. Hmmmmmm..... Click that Link and I'll check back here and there, for any replies. Thanks. ![]() Last edited by Cougar; February 16th, 2003 at 08:18 PM. |

![]() This is all I can think of man,you can try Aqualime, its a really nice version of limewire with all the features amd works pretty much exactely the same with a lil better interface and a Jabber chat feature.Since limewire does not work you may wanna try this.It is built from limewires source code and is almost EXACTELY the same so try it.(Its also up to date, latest version is 2.8.6c) A link to the latest version is http://www.infosprite.com/aqualime/dl/AquaLime286c.exe .try it,hope it helps, any questions bout it you could probably ask me..jus PM. |

![]() Thanks. I downloaded Aqualime and it works just fine. I also tested every version i could find, and now I have figured out where the problems lie. The LimeWire coders changed something major about the window format from 2.7 to 2.8, because none of the 2.8 or 2.9 will work. The Download Results Menu is wiped clean at all times, regardless if i search or not. I am disappointed that they never got this fixed. I suppose I'm the only one to have this problem. Oh well. I guess I'll just use other software from now on. |

![]() the best I can think of, Cougar, is to update your video drivers. a bunch of us develop using w2k and JDK 1.4.1, and we have experienced no problem. in fact, i wouldn't even know where to begin looking for a problem like this. |

![]() All Drivers are and were updated. However, you solved this exact problem in another link in another thread, when you said to add fields to the (formerly blank) file called Display.props. Thank you for that Answer. Everything works now, so far as this Menu issue is concerned. ![]() |
