Unhappy Search MENU bar DISAPPEARED !?!

This is very frustrating. I have tried everything I can think of to fix it.

I am running 2.8.6 and just today my search screen menu bar has totally disappeared. When I do searches now, I can see the number of entries, however the actual list of files that i would click to download is no longer available. Instead it is just solid WHITE screen. (All other menus appear normally.)

Has anyone had or seen this problem? Does anyone know the fix?

I have attempted the REPAIR option, and it fails claiming that it cannot run the /temp/LimeWire*.msi file (even though I checked and its all THERE in the correct path its asking for). I have completely removed it, rebooted, reinstalled. And I have even attempted to install a previous version 2.8.5, but to no avail. The only version that seems to work is 2.3.3.

I run Windows 2000 with JRE 1.4.1_01.

Does anyone have any NEW thoughts how to get LimeWire fixed and working?? Thanks.
