My version is just another build of the current LimeWire sources, in a slightly different packaging. It does not fiddle with the existing LimeWire installation on your hd at all. There is no conflict in normal use, the version you click on is activated and that is it. You should not run both versions at the same time, though.

Default 3.1.0jum

what I downloaeded "Limewire Pro 3.1.0jum 168 OS x.d" does not appear to be a "disk" of anykind. The Info shows it as a BINA file. Do I just move this to "apps' folder? How does it activate? Thanx the village idiot

Just drag the limewire application into your application folder.

Your browser did truncate the name, it is supposed to be named .dmg. Rename it and open it using the Disk Copy program.

BTW: what browser did you use to download the file? It appears to be brain damaged.

IE 523 does the same for me. I just need to add "mg" to the end of the file and OSX asks for confirmation--and all's well.

Just checked--Safari 1.0 (v85) handled it well; 10-12 KB/s.

Thanks again for making your build available--it's so sweet!

If I am happy with the program, for HD space, can I do a "find" & throw all of the old 3.0.1 LW away??? Or does your program need some of the prefs etc?? I just need every bit of space I can get.... Thanx Steve

You can trash anything but your Library/Preferences/LimeWire folder in your home directory, that has to stay.

Jum, just wondering, as we are advertising your version quite a bit, are you handling bandwith alright? Cuz I feel bad that we're sucking up your bandwith.

I was wondering, would you consider posting as an alternative a bitorrent link so that those of us who have that can use bitorrent to save u some bandwith?

I would believe that bittorrent at. al. are just overkill for the current needs. I am handling the downloads just fine. Quite a few people do download it via LimeWire, from my stats more than download via the http link. These two locations are on different internet connections, so there is some small load balancing already.
