Oh, I know what's going on. We set the value in memory, but do not save the value to disk. The information for the bug reports is read from disk, so some values may be a little stale. (The properties aren't too important anyway, what's most important is the stuff under 'session information' and 'thread count'.) |

Ah. Darn--that means I can't trust the sample info, right? Any chance of a more reliable 'get my info' button Sam? I kinda need reliable session info to show the one ISP webmaster that their NBAR software is screwing up my gnutella connections. [salut et voilà--I wish I could use the refresh button to add shared files without losing the hits and location displays] |

et voila: Yeah, it'd be nice if pressing refresh didn't erase that information, but it'd require a helluvalotta work, and it's not all that important. Maybe one day when we've got nothing to do (which seems to be pretty rare) we'll see if something can be done. stief: I'll see if I can't add a simple 'save settings to disk' call before the info is shown in the example. It's just an example, so it shouldn't be a big problem. Thanks. |

Thanks Sam. You guys have sure been busy--I was only gone a few weeks and come back to find I'm many versions and features behind. Pretty impressive! Took me most of the weekend to read up on the changes in the cvs mailing lists. btw--my main ISP is trying out "Sandvine" software (http://www.sandvine.com/solutions/download_center.asp) as a way to control p2p use. More reading to do. Right now p2p via gnutella at accesscomm.ca is broken. This makes it tough to see what the new LW really can do. Last edited by stief; August 11th, 2003 at 05:19 PM. |

Sam--thanks for fixing the bug report--it now correctly reports the forced IP when I switch ISP's. a bit off-topic here, but the bug reports and tooltip displays cut off data longer than one line's data on my Macs (default OSX theme). Can stuff like the "extensions to search for" in the sample bug report or the "X-Try IP's" in the Connections Pane tooltip display be easily wrapped to show all the data? Cheers. |
