Opening OS X application files When I download a software application for my eMac with OS X and try to open it with Stuffit I have been getting a message indicating that the file my be damaged. Specifically it says that an error has occurred while expanding the file and that the archive may be damaged. This has happened several times from sources. I don't have the "Pro"version of Limewire, do you think that might make a difference. The other thought I have is that the application may have some copyright code preventing it from being copied. Any comments? |

Open stuffit and see the isupprt menu. Check for an update--I think there was an upgrade a while back that fixed something like the problem you describe. You can also get that error if you tried to launch it before it was complete, or with some files ending in .img If LW verified the complete file and your stuffit is up to date, there's not much you can do--a bad file was accurately downloaded. Please don't share that file. Cheers. |
