Default LimeWire 3.6.5 Beta

The LimeWire 3.6.5 beta has been released. This version includes switching to the standard application closing behavior on OS X running Java 1.4 or above (we now send LimeWire to the dock when you hit the "X"), fixes to the automatic search result sorting code that was added in 3.6.4 in addition to several other fixes. It also includes a new "tip of the day" -- ooh la la!

Because the changes in this version are so minor, we can continue discussion of the beta on the existing 3.6.4 thread, and we will not make this thread sticky.

Thanks for everyone's great help with testing!

Yeah -- sorry about that guys. Our release process has become significantly more complicated since we added the new OS X installer -- we now have to run the installer script natively on OS X as well. Something went awry with the script on Friday before I left that resulted in the pro being replaced with the free. I didn't write the script, so I didn't have time to figure out why it failed before leaving.

It should be all set in a few minutes.

Thanks for everyone's patience, and our apologies again to all pro users who tried the beta.

It was a good chance to compare the Basic with the Pro, but other than the little text messages srcolling by once in a while, I couldn't see a difference in functionality.

Adam, IS there a difference in functionality between Pro and Basic?

Thanks! for the close box--that is so handy.

With the 3.6.x series, the pro version will typically get more search results and will download faster (it will swarm from more hosts). Otherwise, they're the same except for the scrolling messages and the window that suggest that you guy pro.
