These off-topic posts may impede the normal operation of the forum. Edit posts. Moderators will edit posts that are offensive or break any of the House Rules. Delete posts. Posts that cannot be edited to comply with the House Rules will be deleted. Restrict members. This is one of the last punishments before a member is banned. Restrictions may include placing all new posts in a moderation queue or temporarily banning the offender. Ban members. The most severe punishment. Three or more moderators or administrators must agree to the ban for this action to occur. Banning is reserved for very severe offenses and members who, after many warnings, fail to comply with the House Rules. Banning is permanent. Bans cannot be removed by the moderators and probably won't be removed by the administration. The Rules 1. Warez, copyright violation, or any other illegal activity may NOT be linked or expressed in any form. Topics discussing techniques for violating these laws and messages containing locations of web sites or other servers hosting illegal content will be silently removed. Multiple offenses will result in consequences. File names are not required to discuss your issues. If filenames are copyright then do not belong on these forums & will be edited out or post removed. If your post is placed in the wrong forum it will be moved by a moderator. There are specific Gnutella Client sections for LimeWire, Phex, FrostWire, BearShare, Gnucleus, Morpheus, and many more. Please choose the correct section for your problem. 7. If you see a post in the wrong forum or in violation of the House Rules, please contact a moderator via Private Message or the "Report this post to a moderator" link at the bottom of every post. Please do not respond directly to the member - a moderator will do what is required. 8. Any impersonation of a forum member in any mode of communication is strictly prohibited and will result in banning. 9. Multiple copies of the same post will not be tolerated. Post your question, comment, or complaint only once. There is no need to express yourself more than once. Duplicate posts will be deleted with little or no warning. Keep in mind a forum censor may temporarily automatically hold up your post, if you do not see your post, do not post again, it will be dealt with by a moderator within a reasonable time. Authors of multiple copies of same post may be dealt with by moderators within their discrete judgment at the time which may result in warning or infraction points, depending on severity as adjudged by the moderators online. 10. Posts should have descriptive topics. Vague titles such as "Help!", "Why?", and the like may not get enough attention to the contents. 11. Do not divulge anyone's personal information in the forum, not even your own. This includes e-mail addresses, IP addresses, age, house address, and any other distinguishing information. Don´t use eMail addresses in your nick. Reiterating, do not post your email address in posts. This is for your own protection. 12. Supplying system details is a prerequisite in most cases, particularly with connection or installation issues. Violation of any of these rules will bring consequences, determined on a case-by-case basis. Thank You! Thanks for taking the time to read these forum guidelines. LimeWire 4.0.2 LimeWire 4.0 is now available for download. LimeWire 4.0 contains NO BUNDLED SOFTWARE and has the following major changes/additions: 1) Better search results. Each search shows at least five times as many results as previously. 2) “What’s New?” feature. Users can browse the network for the most recent content additions. 3) Search drill down results. Searches in LimeWire now immediately display the artists, albums and other information that fully describes files. 4) Faster connections on start up. 5) Proxy support. Users can now use web proxies to route their downloads to protect their identity. 6) A new search progress bar in each search tab that indicates the percentage of completion of a search. 7) Detection. When the Internet connection is down or a firewall is blocking access to the Internet, Lime Wire will inform the user. 8) Support for International searches and International groups. Users can now search in any language, and LimeWire ensures that a user will be connected to other users with their own language to aide international users to receive search results in their native language and to find content from sources that are close to home. 9) Improved downloads. By excluding the bad file sources, we rapidly make use of all the good sources for faster and more reliable downloads. 10) Many additional changes and improvements offer users the most powerful, enjoyable file sharing experience available. In addition to the above major features, there's an assortment of other features, such as: - OOB Proxying. Ultrapeers will now send an OOB query for their leaves' queries, allowing firewalled users to take advantage of superfast out of band queries. - TigerTree EXchange (THEX) support, for automatic recovery of corrupted files. - Brand new search interface and incredibly optimized display of search results. - Faster startup times. - ID3v2 support. - Power Management, allowing LimeWire to use less resources when it is in the background. For those keeping track of detailed changes in each of the releases, the following has changed since LimeWire 3.9.12: - Try 10 more random ports to set up a listening port when LimeWire starts. - Fixed some conditions where launching a file from the download table could fail. - Fixed possible selection matching on search result filters. - Various internal fixes for rare problematic cases. For a full list of changes in each version of LimeWire, visit the LimeWire changelog. We owe a very special thanks to open source contributers, such as Philippe Verdy, Roger Kapsi, Gregorio Roper, and Jens-Uwe Mager. We also owe a huge thanks to everyone on the forums who has helped to debug problems and suggest additions to LimeWire. Thanks, The LimeWire Team Last edited by sberlin; May 17th, 2004 at 05:17 PM. |

. . . or here http://www9.limewire.com:82/download I wondered why the mailing list showed updates, but not the beta Pro page. For interest, just installed the Free and it looks fine. Any chance there's an easy way to get a Pro Installer of 4.0.1 and 4.0.2 to add to my collection? Thanks again Sam for the credits, changelogs, and of course--all the work you and the team have accomplished. Time to break out the Lime daquiris! [edit]--I'd forgotten to turn off the firewall when I got home from work, but LW 4.0.2 didn't remind me, and connected as an Ultrapeer. Last edited by stief; May 17th, 2004 at 05:07 PM. |

hmm I like the new Limewire.com design, but the fonts are hard to read on safari which isn't the case in camino and mozilla, just FYI. LW is now available to everybody from the basic downloads links. Congradulations again!!!

Salut et voilà. Is this what you see? (When the mouse hovers, as in the 'Features' link, the links do highlight clearly). Aubrey, I assume, must be really busy for tomorrow, and cursing Apple's Safari [screenshot removed] Last edited by stief; May 17th, 2004 at 10:12 PM. |

Oui Stief that's what happens. Mozilla shows that correctly so I assume something is missing in the khtml safari core. Why isn't Aubrey working on a mac?

Pro installed--and a 4.0.2 leaf already shows in Connections. btw--Safari just kicked to an Amazon page while I was typing this and LW had just finished sending a file to iTunes. Gremlins! Yep--the refresh worked (thought I had. Hmmm) Last edited by stief; May 17th, 2004 at 06:52 PM. |
