Question probs w Java 1.5.0 ?

Ever since I removed JRE 1.4.2_05 and installed 1.5.0, I've had trouble keeping a connection to the network. This is on Win2000.SP4. When I check my Connections screen, I rarely see a stable list of UPs. Instead, there's almost always a search underway for more connections. And I *never* get upgraded to UP myself (which I used to, all the time).

Is there something incompatible between JRE 1.5.0 and LW 4.1.x? I think I was already running 4.1.4 on JRE 1.4 wo incident but I don't really remember anymore. I just upgraded to LW 4.1.8-Pro this morning - same problem.

We're not aware of any JRE 1.5 problems. In fact, we develop mainly using 1.5.

Is it possible for you to install 1.4.2_05 again and see if the problem happens? (You can easily have LimeWire switch back and forth between the JRE's by opening RegEdit and going to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> JavaSoft -> Java Runtime Environment, and changing the value in 'CurrentVersion'.)

What version of LimeWire did you install? We develop using 1.5, so there shouldn't be any problems.

The new sleep function is probably all that's going on. False alarm!
