Default "Search criteria too specific"

Can Limewire not handle an audio search with 5 words in the title field and one in the artist? when i tried doing this it said my search was too specific and i had to make it less specific.... i hope this is a bug or something

Also when i search for an artist and a track Limewire still persists in retrieving results from artists who i am not searching for. For example, if i search for a band which only comprises of one word, i.e. "Wood" lime wire will return results with bands which have that word in it. This really isnt helpful and quite annoying, this should really be filtered by defauilt.

Yeah, that seems to be a new bug. Since upgrading to 4.4.1, now I cannot put fill in more than one of the 3 main search items (title, artist, or album). Never would have figured that you could be too specific on a search...

Heh, yeah, kinda defeats the point in meta data :P I hope its not a new restriction that comes with the new manner in which LimeWire searches.

What version were you using before 4.4.1, Mandrake?

The restriction has been in LimeWire for a _long_ time -- unfortunately, earlier versions just silently dropped the query. Now we're letting you know it isn't gonna work.

Yeah, no doubt. Seems like it should be our decision whether we put in too specific a search - relying on the software to judge more often than not will cause you to get too many listings that have nothing to do with what you're searching for...

Ok, fair enough. Are there any plans to allow the user to be more specific in the future?
