"I am using 4.6.0. Beware of the version 4.8.0 that comes bundled with internet security feature. It's an IE toolbar spyware app."

This post on ZeroPaid.com is a troll... probably by someone that paid another site to get a fake LimeWire Pro version, and got infected by spyware!

If there are bundled software in some distribution of Limewire, such distribution is not an official one

(there are some disgusting companies that abuse the LimeWire GPL licence to resell the software without respecting the GPL: they sell it without saying that the program is GPL'ed, without providing the licence, and without providing access to the modified source as they MUST do).

Use only OFFICIAL distributions of LimeWire and you WON'T get ANY bundled softwares like:
- additional search toolbars for IE (some of them are quite safe like Yahoo Toolbar or MSN Toolbar, but Limewire distributions do not distribute them!),
- personal local search engines
- HTTP proxy redirectors, DNS redirectors, mail redirectors...
- adwares, ads redirectors, ad popups
- spywares, keyloggers, and other privacy thieves...
- dialers, troyans, backdoors, spamwares, and other dangerous/costly malwares
- homepage/searchpage hijackers...

You may use unofficial distributions only from sources that respect the GPL. But most of these sources will make you pay for it, when Limewire.com will provide LimeWire Basic for free. If you pay for LimeWire Pro at another place, you won't get the support expected from Limewire (so you did not get the Pro version where the main difference is the paid support, and the fact that you have contributed to help finance the open-source project!)

LimeWire.com cannot support any unofficial distribution.
