I live in the United States, is downloading from Limewire illigal?

I don't know but i have about 100 files. Will i get prosecuted for this? Thank you so much for your help.

If you have permission to share those files, no problem

You can find lots of files that can be freely shared (see www.magnetmix.com for examples), but that would not help the recording or movie industry get your money.

For US legal info on filesharing, spend some time at http://www.eff.org/share/
