LW 4.9.8 Pro beta Minor typo. In Tools | Options | Status bar, the checkbox for "Bandwidth" says "Firewall". |
thats a good eye ya got ;) |
I noticed that in other earlier builds on Limewire also since they added that feature |
4.9.8 Bug Report Ok, like a newbie I d/led the BETA and did an install. when starting up after installation it "froze". Five (5) times, out of the box it froze. Tried to do a stack report. It froze. Knowing better, I did it right. Uninstalled all traces of LimeWire, full search, regeditted, defragged, removed all files from shared folder, even moved incompletes. Clean install of LimeWire but didn't let it start up. Restartted computer.....clean start. Started LimeWire going through the various tasks. It ran. Shut it down. Put all files back...shared and incomplete. Restartted. Initially, I saw some downloads at 100kb/s. Initially. When trying to navigate the program to options it froze.....tools..it froze. goming to this forum....it froze. in Options to change...it froze...only for a short period of time. 10 to 15 seconds. Almost afraid to move.... But I will. BETA tester patiently on the job SIR!! |
Hmm, that is pretty weird. If you manage to get a stack trace while Limewire is frozen that would be very, very helpful. |
I will do a stack report should I have any problems. Right now it is doing as it should. no freezes and better download speeds than in the past. Am reaching combined d/l speeds of 100-150-170 kp/s with 8 files d/ling and 20 files uploading with a combined speed of up to 57kb/s is the highest I have seen. On my speed tests I vary from3000 to 5000 kb/s d/l and 288 to 379 kp/s uploading...Cable Modem. Will leave all settings in default for awhile. |
