Salut, could you tell us what is the description in text of the error that windows tells you? You could always attach an image, because picture equals thousand words :)

Ciao

The bug report is set on auto send so I don't see the report.

et voilą July 27th, 2005 07:42 PM

So you mean it is a LW error? Not a windows error? How much space left do you have on the partition your downloads are saved to?

Ciao

atiba420 July 27th, 2005 07:46 PM

free space is 15.15GB and and capacity is 33.70GB

Is it a bug report, or do you just see downloads saying "Disk Error" ?

Same problem here...

The downloads in LW v4.9.9 keep ending up with a disk error message in the status portion of the downloads window. Hope this gets fixed a.s.a.p. :(

Me too...

After installing the latest release I too saw the following in all of the entries that were in the middle of the download:

Name: (ok)
Size: (ok)
Status: Disk Error
Progress: 100%
Speed: (blank)
Time: (blank)

Those that were waiting for a busy host were still showing ok.

I also noticed that the CPU cycles were really cranked up, where closing the window and trying to do any other work was a real chore.

Finally, I reinstalled the Pro version and it said that it was unable to automatically restart any of the other processes, and all of the quened entries from before were all blank and the DOWNLOADS.DAT as well as the DOWNLOADS.BAK files was reinitialized.

You Can Help

Hey guys, the progammers need help. If you would download the Limewire debug program, install it to your Program Files>>Limewire folder and run LimeWire from the Command window You could get a stack trace report when this happens. You need to know a little DOS to do this, but, if you can, I know Zab and Et Voila are looking for these.

et voilą July 28th, 2005 07:26 AM

Zab reverted a change in the CVS that solves the Disk error problem I believe.
http://www.limewire.org/fisheye/chan...20050728082853 LW should release 4.9.10 today to fix the issue, again Zab should confirm that.

deacon72: well I'm happy that people report stack traces for bugs, but I'm not a LW dev like Zab, so Zab is the one REALLY looking for them :D

Ciao

Same problem here, infact I think it has something to do with 'File corrupt' as well. First time I got this error ever, and Ive used alot of Limewire over the past few years.

All in all, 4.9.9 Pro beta seems to be a step down over the previous other versions, due to this error.

Also, regarding File curroption detection, is there any way to block all these bad ip ranges, without manually inputing. As in is there any way of using peer guardian (or other) integrated into limewire?

That's true. The Disk Error problem will be gone in the next beta, and we'll have it out asap.
