Source: Tcpip
Version: 5.2
Symbolic Name: EVENT_TCPIP_TCP_CONNECT_LIMIT_REACHED
Message: TCP/IP has reached the security limit imposed on the number of concurrent (incomplete) TCP connect attempts.

This isn't the only readout; there are numerous, numerous entries to this effect. Could they be playing a part in some slow connections.
Could users using outdated LimeWire programs be slowing down the network.
Zab:

I heard that MS05-025 (6/14/05) Windows Update resets the TCP limit.(for those of us that had disabled it). The workaround program can be found here:

http://mitglied.lycos.de/lvllord/download-mirror.htm

Instructions - Download, unzip and run. To change it back to "unlimited" Type "C", then "16777214", press Enter, type "Y" and finally Enter again. A "Windows File Protection" window will come up, ignore this by selecting "Cancel" then "Yes" and Reboot. This warning is normal since you are editing a protected system file.

Well, we're not going to endorse such approach; but if anyone feels like doing this while we find a proper workaround, let us know if it works.

Totally agree...nothing officially endorsed... but it is a known problem with XP since SP1. I had no idea until i did some goggle research that this recent windows update again set the TCP limit at 10. Im going to reinstall the patch when I get home tonight.

Hi zab and the rest

I have that patch installed on my OS, that might be why I'm not duplicating the problems by deacon72 and shawn67.

Oh well, Call me stupid, but this is a BETA test. I'll let everyone else stay in the bunkhouse and guess I'll get on that ole bronc myself. Im going to do the workaround suggested by Shawn and if it works I'll let you know. If it don't, well, I guess Ill be reprogramming another d*mn computer. hehe

Now, let's see....where did I put that restore point..............ROTFLMDFHO
