LimeWire 4.9.17 Beta The LimeWire 4.9.17 beta has been released. You can download the free version from the LimeWire download page. PRO users can download the beta from their personal download page. This beta features further bugfixes and reliability improvements: * A deadlock was fixed that would make LimeWire just stop sharing files * LimeWire will now use much less memory when sharing a lot of files * A special workaround for the connection problems on Windows XP SP2 was added. LimeWire may still occasionally disconnect, but it should reconnect automatically within a few minutes * A few bugs that would cause the LimeWire to "freeze" were fixed. Give it a try and let us know how it holds up. At this stage, we're primarily interested in long-term stability and reliability. - The LimeWire dev team. |

I will test 4.9.17 now; sunday CVS uses suprisingly low RAM when UP, I'm pleased What about updating the feature history from 4.9.12 to 4.9.17? Many people read those when getting LW and want to know what is updated before dling it. Ciao et merci pour le beau travail edit: the feature history in now updated, cool

Yeah, sorry about the lag in the features history. So many little things to keep track of! =) Quote:

Well with 4.9.19 it seems the changelog is quick to follow, nice. I have one remark, as an UP before LW was actively searching for more peers connections until it reached 24 connections. It now seems to be 23. What is weird is that LW seems on my machine to almost never get more than 23 peer connections and also there are very few leaves (when any) connecting. I guess I'm gonna change from the French to the English local to see if it is a real new problem, ie not related to the local subnet. Ciao

Update: with the english locale, I'm at 30 peers and 3 leaves, I guess the Gnet just doesn't need leaves right now which is odd since this time is around the connection peak of the day

ALL R I G H T ! ! ! O K ! ! ! B E T T E R ! ! ! Running Ver. 4.9.19. Stayed connected ALL NIGHT!!! As an Ultrapeer no less. When idle it seems I lose my leafs but carry 23 Peer connections. When active I am carrying 23 UP's, 10 leafs and 10 more connecting on average. I am running on EXELLENT connection not Turbo. I only attain TURBO when running as a leaf, but not as UP. My LimeWire can not handle 7,000 files. My CPU goes nuts. 100% usage. LimeWire itself is using 124,000 K but is now stable at 96,000 with 311 files and I have 5 to 7 dl's @ approx. 20 to 50 kb/s and 18 active uploads @ approx 18 to 50 kb/s with 10 in QUEUE. The biggest user of power is vsmon at approx.615,000K. I am running a WIN XP Home Edition with all updates no workarounds. SP2 installed. P4 Compaq (1800) 1 GB RAM Cable Modem Router and EZ Firewall accepting LimeWire. |
