limewire server is down
 
hi i am from cagayan de oro philippines we have a network computers here in our office and all these computers use limewire sofware but unfortunately limewire is useful for almost two weeks now the last time we use it was on july 30 but when august step in it doesnt connect anymore we check and install limewire thru internet cafes but unfortunately it still doesnt work we check our computer configuration all is in tact no firewalls what so ever, our query is, does limewire upgraded their server or limewire is history?we try also bearshare it has the same problem, i found out later that gnutella network is not present, hope you can answer my query im looking forward for your reply thanks

isp block
 
I think we have the same isp. I also cant connect. I have tried the same setup with another ISP and it works.

I think you should call up the ISP and complain why they are blocking p2p access . Add your voice to increase the number of complains.

I think they might have installed a new firewall or network equiptment that blocks limewire access. Blocking may be intentional or inadvertently.

Hope they correct it soon.

I called up my isp
 
i call up our isp but they said that they are not blocking any p2p access how can i know that they are blocking this access are there any software that can detect any firewall instaled by an isp?so that i will use it as an evidence if ever they lie

If that's any help, I can confirm by IPs that you are both using same ISP ;) So yes ISP problem, sigh.

I am pretty sure that the problem is with the ISP.

I have two notebooks. One running WIN98 and the other WINXP.

Both cant connect with them but with another ISP it works fine.

Unfortunately, my connection to the ISP that LW works is dial-up that is why I really like the DSL connection to work. They also told me they are not blocking it.

Maybe they don't know that it is blocking it.
