These off-topic posts may impede the normal operation of the forum. Edit posts. Moderators will edit posts that are offensive or break any of the House Rules. Delete posts. Posts that cannot be edited to comply with the House Rules will be deleted. Restrict members. This is one of the last punishments before a member is banned. Restrictions may include placing all new posts in a moderation queue or temporarily banning the offender. Ban members. The most severe punishment. Three or more moderators or administrators must agree to the ban for this action to occur. Banning is reserved for very severe offenses and members who, after many warnings, fail to comply with the House Rules. Banning is permanent. Bans cannot be removed by the moderators and probably won't be removed by the administration. The Rules 1. Warez, copyright violation, or any other illegal activity may NOT be linked or expressed in any form. Topics discussing techniques for violating these laws and messages containing locations of web sites or other servers hosting illegal content will be silently removed. Multiple offenses will result in consequences. File names are not required to discuss your issues. If filenames are copyright then do not belong on these forums & will be edited out or post removed. If your post is placed in the wrong forum it will be moved by a moderator. There are specific Gnutella Client sections for LimeWire, Phex, FrostWire, BearShare, Gnucleus, Morpheus, and many more. Please choose the correct section for your problem. 7. If you see a post in the wrong forum or in violation of the House Rules, please contact a moderator via Private Message or the "Report this post to a moderator" link at the bottom of every post. Please do not respond directly to the member - a moderator will do what is required. 8. Any impersonation of a forum member in any mode of communication is strictly prohibited and will result in banning. 9. Multiple copies of the same post will not be tolerated. Post your question, comment, or complaint only once. There is no need to express yourself more than once. Duplicate posts will be deleted with little or no warning. Keep in mind a forum censor may temporarily automatically hold up your post, if you do not see your post, do not post again, it will be dealt with by a moderator within a reasonable time. Authors of multiple copies of same post may be dealt with by moderators within their discrete judgment at the time which may result in warning or infraction points, depending on severity as adjudged by the moderators online. 10. Posts should have descriptive topics. Vague titles such as "Help!", "Why?", and the like may not get enough attention to the contents. 11. Do not divulge anyone's personal information in the forum, not even your own. This includes e-mail addresses, IP addresses, age, house address, and any other distinguishing information. Don´t use eMail addresses in your nick. Reiterating, do not post your email address in posts. This is for your own protection. 12. Failure to show that you have read the forum rules may result in forum rules breach infraction points or warnings awarded against you which may later total up to an automatic temporary or permanent ban. Supplying system details is a prerequisite in most cases, particularly with connection or installation issues. Violation of any of these rules will bring consequences, determined on a case-by-case basis. Thank You! Thanks for taking the time to read these forum guidelines. Problems with Limewire Pro I totally agree with you, I downloaded Limewire and I was really pleased with the results - so much so that I bought the Pro version - since then NOTHING - nada, zilch, I have written to Limewire - no answers! I can't get my money back. I need help to alert other users to not paying for a program that seriously has great problems delivering what it promises - aren't their laws about this? If anyone can inform me of intelligent sites that can help report this misuse to the general public please do so. OK I have lost money but let's stop it now, most people can't afford to waste hard earned cash. By the way before you think I am some load mouthed radical, I am 60 years old, used computers for more years than most of you were born, and work hard for my pennies. Greatfully accept any (non-rude) suggestions. |

Hi, Let's try and sort this out before accusing LW of doing anything underhand I don't work for them, but I do have have complete faith in them. Which version were you using before? How much did you pay for pro? It may just need configuring currectly I use pro and have no problems. I believe it does give better results than the equivalent Basic. Please also let us know which platform and OS you are using, and exactly what is happenning. can you install Limewire but get no search results ... no downloads, or can you not install it? |

Thank you Hobo - I got a little hot under the collar - still have not had any replies from LW. I use a powerbook G4. OS X. I friend introduced me to LimeWire and I was truly happy with the first downloaded version. It was easy to figure out and I although I have never downloaded even one piece of music before, I soon had a good selection of favouirite songs. I leave the computer on over night as I live in Spain, and obviously have to wait for the USA to wake up as each night I was downloading forty or so songs. Because of this I paid for the Pro Version to say thank you for the prog. Can't remember what I paid but I would think it would be around 20 Euros say 18 dollars. I downloaded the Pro version and since that day have only downloaded 10 songs. I have cleared my chosen downloads and reselected them. All are popular country western with loads of sources, but I get O Kb download it occasionally goes to 1, but virtually immediately goes back to O. The uploads work very well with apparently do problems. If it had never worked since the download - I could easily understand that, but it worked ok, however much more slowly. I have tried opposite button clicking the selected song and finding more sources, re-connecting, etc. it brings movement to the screen but no downloads. I have not download one song for the last week. Some say connecting, some say queued, most say need more sources, even though loads show varying degrees of completion, no donloading is actually happening, which is why I wrote to the company to see if they could help. i have taken the pro off the machine and run the free download and it worked fine, so I re-installed the pro and hey presto no more downloads. I accept the problem lies with the Pro but I don't know how to correct it. I am seriously thinking of ditching the Pro and just using the free download which worked fine. Thank you for your interest. |

The question I aked which I most wanted you to answer, was: which version of Limewire were you using before ... ie the Basic version which I have gathered you have reinstalled. Go to Limewire>about Limewire and it will tell you. Additionally exactly which OSX? Memory and Processor (All these can be found clicking the Blue Apple>about this Mac Also which pro version are you having no luck with. I am guessing that it is 4.9.30 or .33 but would be interested if you can confirm. I use 4.9.29 Limewire pro and I have always had reservations about upgrading hense my interest + which I'd like to help sort out your problem |

Info as required: OS 10.3.9 Processor 1.33 Ghz Memory 512 Mb I purchased LimeWire Pro 4.9.33 on 11th Oct. I downloaded the Limewire basic a week before but have no note of which version it was. I do not have any Java problem - which is a known issue with OS 10.3.9 Limewire allow you to re-download Pro version if you have purchased in the last 6 months. I have done this twice after removing previous downloads from my machine. This morning I decided to try the beta version of the pro - downloaded it and hey presto - no more problems. Everything working fine. Thank you again for your interest - I would still be wary of LimeWire 4.9.33 |

I'm glad you have solved the problem by installing version 4.9.35. BetaEnjoy! I didn't even know it was released! Enjoy! It is always a good idea to relabel the dmg/download files files of versions you download and keep them safe. Then it is easy to go back to them if you need to, and you will know which is which! |
