I've used the non-installer version which gives me this error message after configuration is done:
./runlime.sh: line 11: 1145 Segmentation fault java -classpath . RunLime

Slackware 8.0, jre 1.3.1

Default

i had the same problems with the same distro. it doesnt matter though i installed Limewire 1.8 on my brother's pc which runs windows and from what i noticed it isnt really worth the upgrade anyway. just stick with 17c until they come up with a better way to incorporate ads into the program and have enough neat new features.

Red face Redhat 7.2 + jre + install prob

hi,

I'm an unix user and I rather avoid windows if possible.

The 1.7c version of limewire runs very well under linux and the installation procedure was quick and easy... i had to get the jre files.. (rpms available) and set PATH env to jre location (/usr/java/jrexxx/bin).

I then downloaded the new 1.8 and after adding the java localtion to the PATH env here's what I get:

Preparing to install...
Extracting the installation resources from the installer archive...
Configuring the installer for this system's environment...
Invocation of this Java Application has caused an InvocationTargetException. This application will now exit. (LAX)

I also installed the 1.8 version under WInME and I must say I was not impressed on what I saw:

1. No more GROUPS or COMMUNITIES
2. Annonying BANNERS
3. Statistics (files in, out, Gigs, TB)
4. Third Partie lame applications

Thanks for your help
