Where exactly is the beta stopping during installation? If there's an error message or anything, maybe get a screenshot of it? Or note down exactly what it says & post it.

My guess is it is stalling at installing Java. Garbagefan2 follow the thread below WW is having the same problem.

The file won't delete because LimeWire is running the background (waiting for the splash file to be read). You can kill LimeWire (however many instances of it may be running) from the task manager in order to delete the preferences directory.
