Having the same problem.
Have tried hitting it at several times of day, but nothing happens.
I generally use Opera 9, and more infrequently Firefox. Had Netscape for awhile, but it wasn't working good so I removed it.
My LimeWire is 4.12.6 on WinXP Pro SP2 running on Compaq Proliant ML370 G2 (a server altered to run as a PC, and everything else is ok) 1.266 GHz, 1536 MB RAM, HP NC3163 Fast Ethernet NIC, connected with Motorola SB5101 Cable Modem at 1500/400
Of course, IE is in here, but I truly dislike the program, so I almost never use it, except when visiting Microsoft's site as they will only allow IE.
Do I need to setup LimeWire somehow to let it know what browser to use?

Cool Rite-Click Bitzi Not Opening

I'm having the same Issue & I recall seeing this once before along time back in another version of LW(free)
(Rite-Click\Advanced\Look up with Bitzi)
My LW/Bitzi window has not worked for 2 days now.

I rely heavly on Bitzi to keep Me from D\L crap, but I am going to wait a while longer & continue to try to access Bitzi as directed by Sleepless.

However if I recall correctly the last time I had this Issue after a bit of searching I found I had to delete the Limewire folder located in C:\Doc's & Sett"s\ User Name.
Then re-launch LW & set the User's pref's from scratch.
Also for some reason I keep thinkng that I might of had to uninstall My Java & Re-install it.

These are just quess's So Please wait for someone more qualified tell me if I am correct in My recollection?
Or just exactly what are the steps to fix this Issue?
Thanx For any Consideration & Direction

No fix just wanted to say this is also somehow browser related

I get much more succes with Firefox than IE. Haven't tried others to any extent so don't really have any other recommendations

BTW also had less problems accessing it after setting Static IP and preferred DNS servers on both router and PCs. Might just be a fluke though

Default Broken Rite-Click Bitzi, Browser Related ?

I agree it does seem like it's Browser related almost like the Pop Up/open feature of Bitzi/LW is being blocked by IE6

Default Limewire to blame?

Just for the heck of it, I tried another P2P-program (Morpheus) on the same computer and same browser, etc. Only change was the P2P-program in other words. I didn`t like the program much so it`s deleted now. It did have some advantages over Limewire, but the drawbacks was too big to rival LW.
Anyhow, it did Bitzi-lookup with ease. The search results came faster, and somewhat more than LW, but it didn`t mind the settings. I set it to max 6 simultaneous downloads, and still it tried downloading 16 files at once. Not good, as each file didn`t get any bandwidth to talk of. And when I had a hang-up, I had about 200+ files in download queue. Upon start-up it didn`t find one single file to download, and didn`t start them again.

Well, the point is, I think it`s something with the Limewire program that`s concerned when trying Bitzi-lookup. Otherwise it wouldn`t have worked with such ease in another program.

i think it was because i had either 2 browsers or the wrong browser running...

1. in start or control panel click on "set program access and defaults.
2. click on custom
3. choose default web browser.
4. ensure you have either internet explorer or try making sure only 1 is highlighted.

this then allowed my bitzi to work !!!! good luck.

Default Working

It's working now.

Upon reading your post I didn't think it had much significance as Opera had implanted itself as standard web-browser, but apparently it had the whole world of significance to the problem

This really dont have anything to do with your current problem (which Ihave been haveing problems with as well) OttifantSir. But you metioned your distain for Microsucks IE. I use firefox as well and have no trouble access Microsucks sites useing the IE tab extension for firefox. You can even run windows update with it. http://ietab.mozdev.org/
