Junk Rating?

Can anyone tell me what the junk rating is?

As far as I know the strength of the junk filter can be adjusted in options, and that is all the rating is. Forgive my slight vagueness but I am tied to an old version of Limewire that doesn't have the junk filter.

Junk Filters will filter out files marked as junk wrather decided by you or others i do not know i usually dont see junk unless i mark something junk but that might just be because ppl are lazy and dont wanna mark it for others lol

If you mark something as junk, it is for your computer only. Others will not see your markings.

I was wondering about the junk rating as well. You mention that something marked as junk is only for your own computer, but I see files marked as junk turn up when I do a search, before I even have a chance to "mark them for my own PC".

The reason I ask is because I have seen this recently when I searched for a well known Dutch artist. Almost half of the files that showed up were marked as junk. However, they seem OK to me : correct titlenames and realistic sizes (e.g an mp3 of 3.4 MB @ 160 Kbps bitrate for a typical song, also found as 2.7 MB @ 128 in the non-junk section). I wondered if these file are really junk, or just marked as such by someone who doesn't speak Ductch and sees some strange words?

I could of course try to find out by downloading them, but I'll only do that if I know that those junk designations do not necessarily mean such a file really is junk

as far as I know your copy of Limewire has the junk filter enabled and is marking files as junk from what it has already "learned". The filter can be adjusted in options>filters junk, but as I said above, I do not have the filter myself so I am guessing a little.
