Default Divx DVD Player makes AVI's easy!

I just got a Divx DVD player. It is making me seriously rethink whether I ever want to convert AVIs to DVD format again.

I was able to fit six full length AVI movies on one DVDR, and they played great. The only drawback is that the image size is often smaller than normal (similar to a widescreen movie). The DVD Player can bring up the file names in list format, so you know what files are on your disc.

I'm glad I figured out a method for converting AVIs to quality DVDs (everyone has there own, I think), so I can play movies on friends' players, etc., but it takes so long and can be so time consuming!

I did discuss this issue in a recent post, but I did not yet have personal experience with such players. I thought this information might be helpful, since video conversion can be quite frustrating. Also, I see many, many posts on how best to convert AVIs to DVDs.

The best part? The machine only costs $37 at Wal-Mart. I'm not sure what kind of life-span it will have, but I'm sure it will save me a lot of time and effort and will justify the small cost.

I hope this is of help!

Default

Another way is to just link your PC to your TV. I use S-Video to link and then the sound from my headphones plug linked to my stereo.

Media Player Classic to play (has the option to stretch the pic outside the screen (lose a bit of the sides but gain height)

But otherwise. Yes, just using a DVD Player that supports other formats is a good way to go too.
